Movie review of "Taken"

This past weekend I went and saw "Taken." Here is my review of the movie:

Movie: “Taken”
Movie Rating: PG-13
Directed by: Pierre Morel
Staring: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace
Genre: Action, Suspense
My Grade for the Movie: B

Movie Review

If all CIA agents were as skilled as Bryan Mills, all of Al Qaeda’s leaders, including Osama bin Laden, would have been captured just days after the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. Unfortunately for the CIA, this movie is highly fictitious. Mills proves to be a one-man army with all of the latest gadgets to win shoot-outs with dozens of bad guys, knife fights, and torture any one who stands in his way. Oh yeah, he does all of this in 96 hours, not bad for just one man.
The film starts in Los Angeles where we meet Mills, (Liam Neeson) who is retired from the CIA. He is looking forward to spending time with his former CIA co-workers, grilling steaks in the back yard, and with his 17-year-old daughter Kim (Maggie Grace). Mills is looking forward to getting to know his daughter better since he never got to spend much time with her because of work.
Kim convinces her father to let her spend the summer in Paris with a friend. Mills is concerned for the safety of Kim, knowing the world is a dangerous place and evil people lurk everywhere. Mills lets her go even though he knows better. Sure enough, Kim and her friend are kidnapped by Albanians who are going to auction the girls off as prostitutes for Arabs. Mills has a quick conversation with the kidnapper of his daughter and tells kidnapper he will find him and kill him.
Overall, this film was nicely done, with intense fighting scenes and enough suspense to keep your body running on adrenaline for hours after. The movie starts out extremely slow, but picks up once Kim is kidnapped. If you are looking forward to the next “Bourne” thriller, you have to look no further than “Taken.” Although not the best action movie I have ever seen, “Taken” provides for its viewers. The fighting scenes alone make the movie worth the price of an admission ticket. If you enjoy shoot em’ up styles of movies where the good triumph in style and do things that will never be possible in real life, yourself a winner.

Hello all!

Welcome to Casey and Sarah's new blog!

So for my news writing class, I have to post some assignments to a blog in order to get extra credit. Since I love extra credit and certainly need it for this class, I have scummed to the "blog."

Sarah and I are doing great. I am in the middle of midterms (oh so much fun) and Sarah is busy working at the expo center in Sandy. Other than that life is pretty boring!

I am going to take classes this spring and summer. I hope I am in for the non-stop action of school. My workload shouldn't be too bad though.
